National Project: Patient Pathways

Patient Pathways is an important project about the alcohol and drug service systems in Australia and people’s journeys into and through care.

It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and led by Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Eastern Health.

The project will describe current service availability and connectedness, while documenting people’s reasons for seeking treatment, their use of services, and their expectations and experiences of treatment.

This information will help policy makers, researchers, and service providers understand the treatment needs and experiences of people who seek assistance because of alcohol and drug problems. In turn, this will assist in decisions about service and system design.
