Taking Part in Client Interviews
Patient Pathways includes interviews with people who have recently started treatment at an alcohol and other drug service. People attending alcohol and other drug services in Victoria and Western Australia will be involved.
The interviews are about people’s experience with treatment. We are collecting information on:
- Personal and social circumstances - participants’ sex, age, and background; their employment and living conditions; and their alcohol and other drug use and dependence
- Well-being - participants’ health and social connections; their community support for treatment; and their quality of life
- Help-seeking and service use - participants’ motivation for treatment; their past use of services; their reasons for treatment; and their perspectives on recent treatment
We will hold two interviews within twelve months. The first interview will be held face to face, while the second interview may be conducted by telephone.
Clients will be informed about the study by their clinician and they may choose to provide information so we can contact them about taking part in an interview.
Participants will be reimbursed for their time and contribution to the study. For the initial interview, $25 compensation will be provided. For the second interview, $45 compensation will be provided.
