Taking Part in Client Interviews

Patient Pathways includes interviews with people who have recently started treatment at an alcohol and other drug service. People attending alcohol and other drug services in Victoria and Western Australia are involved.

The interviews are about people’s experience with treatment. We are collecting information on:
  • Personal and social circumstances - participants’ sex, age, and background; their employment and living conditions; and their alcohol and other drug use and dependence
  • Well-being - participants’ health and social connections; their community support for treatment; and their quality of life
  • Help-seeking and service use - participants’ motivation for treatment; their past use of services; their reasons for treatment; and their perspectives on recent treatment
More than 800 people, from Victoria and Western Australia, have taken part in an interview.

The one-year follow-up interviews are underway.

Participants are reimbursed for their time and contribution to the study. For the follow-up interview, $45 compensation will be provided.
