FAQS

a. How can I participate in the research?
Clients that are in the early stage of a new treatment episode will receive information about the study from their clinician. If interested, clients will provide their contact information for the researchers.

b. Am I required to participate?
No. Participation is entirely voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time.

c. Will I be reimbursed for taking part in an interview?
Yes. Participants that complete an initial interview will be compensated $25 and participants that complete a second (follow-up) interview will be compensated $45 for their time and contribution.

d. What does participation involve?
For the initial interview, you will meet with a researcher and answer a number of questions about your personal circumstances, your health and well-being, as well as your treatment experiences and expectations. The interview will take about an hour and it will take place at the service you are attending.
For the follow-up interview, the researcher will contact you by telephone and ask a similar series of questions.

e. Will clinicians have access to the information I provide?

No. The information provided during the interviews is confidential to the research team. Clinicians will not be present during the interviews and they will not have access to any of the information you provide.

f. When are the interviews taking place?
The initial interviews will be held until the end of August 2012. Participants will be contacted around 10 months after their initial interview to organise a time for the follow-up interview.

g. What if I move?
If your contact details change after the initial interview we would like to hear from you, so we can make contact when it is time for the follow-up interview. Please contact Andrew Larner to let us know your new contact details.
