Assess the needs of clients who have AOD issues
This unit relates to assessing client needs in the context of the delivery of identifying options for delivery of community services to support their needs. This unit includes applying standard processes and procedures to providing a comprehensive assessment of clients AOD and other needs, developing case plans based on the assessment, and referring clients to other services as required.
Requirements
- Recommend successfully completing CHCAOD2C and CHCAOD6B prior to enrolling in this unit of competency.
- Recommend having 12 months workplace experience in alcohol and drug assessment and individual treatment planning prior to enrolling.
- Recommend workplace mentor to be in place if less than 12 months experience in in alcohol and drug assessment and individual treatment planning.
- Must have to be successfully completed Level 2 First Aid for final result to be issued
- Must have to be successfully completed CHCAOD2C for final result to be issued
