Pharmacotherapies
This course will update participants on the latest developments including new medications and guidelines. Core content includes:
Why are substitution therapies prescribed?
What paharmacotherapies are available?
What is the successful formula for treatment?
What’s on the horizon?
Specific drugs discussed will include Clonidine, Lowfexidine, Naltrexone, Naloxone, Methadone, Buprenorphine, Suboxone, Acamprosate and Disulfiram.
Key issues considered will be prescribing and administration, stabilisation issues, overdose, side effects, withdrawal and maintenance, and take away doses.
