the program
Trustworthy, rigorous research and evaluation are cornerstones
of sound service planning and systems development. The work
of the Health Services Research and Evaluation Program aims
to inform better health service delivery related to alcohol
and other drugs.
We draw on multi-disciplinary backgrounds and substantial
experience in evaluating alcohol and drug services and systems,
working with vulnerable groups and a diversity of other community
and professional stakeholders.
Central features of our work are:
- Collaborative, mixed-methods evaluation and research
- Contemporary knowledge of alcohol, drug and tobacco issues
and responses.
- The ability to elicit, understand and value the perspectives
of stakeholders
- Commitment to the development of cultural competence
for working in the settings and communities of each project
- Consideration of context (social, political, environmental)
