Treatment and support

Turning Point provides a wide range of specialist treatment and support services to people affected by alcohol and drug use. Our focus is on the provision of clinical services by qualified and experienced practitioners within a research and education environment. We aim to provide leadership and excellence in alcohol and drug services, develop new approaches to treatment and provide community-based practitioners with specialist support.

Turning Point works with people experiencing problems related to a range of drugs including heroin, alcohol, amphetamines and cannabis. Our specialist clinical services cater for the needs of clients with complex needs such as young people, pregnant women, polydrug users or people with mental health diagnoses.

 

TELEPHONE SERVICES

Turning Point’s statewide telephone services network operates 24 hours, seven days. Trained counsellors provide information and referral to the public and to health professionals.

DirectLine
A 24-hour counselling and referral line is available to anyone who has a problem or question related to alcohol or drug use. Experienced counsellors provide an immediate and confidential response. More information

A 24-hour telephone and website consultancy service is available to professionals who need advice on the clinical management of alcohol and drug issues. More information

CLINICAL SERVICES

Clinical services at Turning Point are provided by specialist clinicians, outreach workers and counsellors. Clients come mainly from the metropolitan area. They may be self-referred or referred from diversion programs or community-based services.

Turning Point clinicians are available to provide consultancy and support services to community-based service providers. Statewide requests from metropolitan and rural service providers are met with advice and support from clinicians and outreach workers.

Monday to Friday, 9.30 am to 5.00 pm.
Limited weekend operation for pharmacy services (contact Turning Point for details).
