Education and Training Officer, Turning Point


Anna’s role as an education officer involves working in a number of programs including BreakThrough: Families Understanding Addiction, professional development and VET courses, Connect and Learn webinars, and SMART Recovery. As part of the BreakThrough team, Anna develops content and facilitates online and face-to-face education and support sessions for families across Victoria dealing with a loved one's drug use. Anna is also a trained SMART Recovery facilitator and runs a group for people interested in making changes to their AOD use.


Anna began her career in the AOD sector in 2000 when she was recruited as one of the first volunteers for the newly established Family Drug Helpline, supporting families impacted by alcohol and drugs.

Anna joined Turning Point in 2004 and has worked across a range of disciplines including research, communications, clinical services and education. She holds a BA, Monash University; Grad Dip Prof Writing and Editing, Deakin University; and Grad Dip AOD, Turning Point.

Research interests

Anna has been providing peer support and facilitating group programs since 2000 and is inspired every day by people's stories of strength and hope.
