Assistant Lecturer (Addictive Behaviours) Research & Education Officer
Overview
Rita's role is to support the online delivery and coordination of the Graduate Certificate, Diploma and Master of Addictive Behaviours. Within the Research and Workforce Development team, Rita contributes to the development and delivery of face to face and online professional development for the AOD sector, fee-for-service training and community education about alcohol and other drugs.

Background
Since 2007, Rita have worked in research, education, and project coordination across various roles in public health, healthcare, higher education and, more recently, the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sector.
Research interests
Rita's primary research and education interests lie with the political and social context of AOD use, new and emerging drugs of concern and promoting public health and policy interventions that reduce drug-related harm and support people who use drugs, their families and the wider community.
Rita is passionate about evidence-based information sharing that builds capacity to promote sensible and compassionate discussions about drug use and reducing drug-related harm.
