Research & Education Officer and Assistant Lecturer, Addictive Behaviours, Turning Point and Monash University
Rita's role supports the online delivery and coordination of the Graduate Certificate, Diploma and Master of Addictive Behaviours. Within the Research and Workforce Development team, Rita contributes to the development and delivery of face-to-face and online professional development for the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector, fee-for-service training and community education about alcohol and other drugs.

Since 2007, Rita has worked in research, education, and project coordination across various roles in public health, healthcare, higher education and, more recently, the alcohol and other drugs sector.
Rita's primary research and education interests lie with the political and social context of AOD use; new and emerging drugs of concern; and promoting public health and policy interventions that reduce drug-related harm and support people who use drugs, their families and the wider community.
Rita is passionate about evidence-based information sharing that builds capacity in a range of settings to promote sensible and compassoinate discussions about drug use and reducing drug-related harm.
