Dr Leanne Francia

Research Officer, Clinical and Social Research Team, Turning Point and Monash University


Leanne is yet to be assigned to a dedicated project, and is currently assisting on tasks across the Clinical and Social Team, including providing support to A/Prof Vic Manning.

Research interests

Leanne has an interest in sensitive and complex areas and her PhD thesis focused on family violence and separated parents’ experiences of the Australian family law and child protection systems. She has been involved in research projects focused on women in RAAF, mapping alcohol and other drug treatment journeys, and evaluations of programs on sexual and violent offender rehabilitation and reintegration programs and perpetrator intervention programs. Leanne’s expertise lay in applied research and qualitative research design. 


Leanne has completed a AssocDegLaw(Paralegal), BSocSC(Psych), BSocSC(Psych)(Hons) and a PhD, starting her career working as a paralegal in boutique law firms.

Leanne has worked as a children’s counsellor, crisis support worker for Lifeline, and has been State Adviser for Child, Youth, and Family for the National Council of Women Queensland..
