Clinical Observation & Sector Skill Training Workshop

For the remainder of the Educational Internship hours, students will participate in observational placement and industry workshop days across Turning Point sites and other AOD services, including:

• Telephone and Online Services
• State-wide Specialist Clinical Services
• Wellington House Residential Rehabilitation Unit
• Ward 1 East detoxification unit
• Carrington Road Drop-In services

These hours may involve:

• Attending clinical intake and review meetings
• Observing workers delivering intake, assessment, 1:1 and group treatment sessions via face-to-face, telephone or online services
• Excursions to other AOD service providers
• Simulations/hypothetical scenario observation and debriefing
• Individual or group projects related to work in the AOD sector
• On-the-job tasks
• Reviewing webinars and participation in supervision & group-building activities
