ROIDCheck: Building the World’s First Steroid Drug Checking Program

Overview:

Conducted across 2024–2025, the program provided real-world data on the composition, purity, and safety of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) in Australia. Drawing on collaborations between health services, peer networks, and harm reduction practitioners, ROIDCheck demonstrates how community-led drug checking can generate actionable intelligence, support safer use, and reshape health engagement among people who use performance and image-enhancing drugs.
