This event was one of our Talking Point series. It was delivered on 27 July 2016.

Child aware practice: Where does ‘the village’ end and ‘child protection’ begin?

Dr Deb Scott Senior Research Fellow, Monash University, RN (MSN), MPH (UQ), HlthSciD (QUT).

Dr Scott is a multidisciplinary researcher with an undergraduate degree in nursing, a Masters of Public Health and a Professional Doctorate. Debbie’s research focus is child wellbeing. Her research reflects her belief that child wellbeing cannot occur in isolation from the families and communities where children live, and therefore, policies, practice and services must be integrated and work collaboratively, not in silos.

Debbie's experience ranges across a number of academic and government settings including managing a state-wide injury surveillance unit, data linkage of large administrative datasets, program evaluation and mixed-methods research.
