Overview

Turning Point is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 6948) and provides competency-based training and assessment opportunities to the Victorian AOD workforce.

This training is targeted at new employees to the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector, currently employed in Department of Health (DH) funded AOD services.

Turning Point staff conducting the AOD competencies have both AOD experience and meet the training and assessment requirements as outlined in the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).

What units of competency do we offer?

All four (4) units of competency from the CHCSS00093 Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set:

• CHCAOD001: Work in an alcohol and other drugs context
• CHCAOD004: Assess needs of clients with alcohol and other drugs issues
• CHCAOD006: Provide interventions for people with alcohol and other drugs issues
• CHCAOD009: Develop and review individual alcohol and other drugs treatment plans

Registration (Expression of Interest Only)

Registrations are now open for the AOD Skill Set (all four (4) units of competency). Please ensure you met the selection criteria below before registering.

All details including commencement dates and mandatory online virtual classes for all four (4) units of competency is here.
You will be registering your interest in all four (4) units of competency. If you have already achieved competency in any of the units please do not register.

We recognise its easy to register for training but often hard to turn up. If your circumstances change please cancel your registration by emailing [email protected] to make your place available to someone else.

Selection Criteria

To enrol in a unit of competency you must work in a publicly funded organisation in the Victorian Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector in an AOD role, and be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.

Cost

There is no cost to complete units of competency if you meet the selection criteria.
