AOD workforce vocational training
Turning Point (RTO 6948) has been contracted by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS Victoria) to provide competency training and assessment opportunities to the Victorian AOD workforce. Turning Point staff conducting the AOD competencies have both clinical experience and meet the training and assessment requirements as outlined in the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
This training is targeted at new employees to the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector, currently employed in DHHS funded AOD services.
What competencies are available?
CHCAOD006 Provide interventions for people with alcohol and other drugs issues
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to confirm, conduct and monitor evidence based intervention strategies to address alcohol and other drugs issues. This unit includes applying standard processes and procedures to effectively manage tasks and contingencies required in the context of the work role.
The purpose of the training is to enable participants to develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to prepare clients for interventions and deliver those interventions under supervision, within the scope of an established individual treatment plan.
This unit of competency is assessed and you will be required to complete assessment tasks.
Dates: Wednesday 6th March, Thursday 7th March, Wednesday 13th March and Wednesday 27 March 2019.
You must be available to attend all four (4) days.
Times: The days will commence at 9:30am and conclude at 4:30pm.
Who should attend? New employees to the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector, currently employed in DHHS funded AOD Services.
Lunch: A light lunch including a vegetarian selection is provided.
Cost: There is no cost to complete this unit of competency.
Venue: Training will be held at Turning Point, 110 Church Street, Richmond 3121.
