AOD workforce vocational training

Overview

Turning Point (RTO 6948) has been contracted by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS Victoria) to provide competency training and assessment opportunities to the Victorian AOD workforce. Turning Point staff conducting the AOD competencies have both clinical experience and meet the training and assessment requirements as outlined in the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).

This training is targeted at new employees to the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector, currently employed in DHHS funded AOD services.

What competencies are available?

All four (4) competencies from the CHCSS00093 Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set:

  • CHCAOD001: Work in an alcohol and other drugs context
  • CHCAOD004: Assess needs of clients with alcohol and other drugs issues
  • CHCAOD006: Provide interventions for people with alcohol and other drugs issues
  • CHCAOD009: Develop and review individual alcohol and other drugs treatment plans

Event details

All units of competency will be available individually not as a group.  When the dates for each unit of competency have been confirmed you will be able to view via Eventbrite.

You must be available to attend all scheduled days for the unit of competency you are expressing interest in.

Times: The days will commence at 9:30 am and conclude at 4:30 pm for each unit of competency.

Who should attend? New employees to the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector, currently employed in DHHS funded AOD Services.

Lunch: A light lunch including a vegetarian selection is provided.

Cost: There is no cost to complete a unit of competency but you must meet the entry criteria to complete the training.

Venue: Training will be held at Turning Point, 110 Church Street, Richmond 3121.

This is an expression of interest only and you must compete all fields required for registering to be considered for a place.

Once your expression of interest has been accepted you will receive further information about the training including reading material.

You will be notified via email if you have been successful in securing a place and you will be required to accept your offer by a due date.
