The KickStart program is an eight-week therapeutic group specifically for men who are involved in the justice system where a link has been identified between offending behaviour and substance use. The group program is based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and it supports participants to reduce substance related offending whilst providing a holistic approach for behavioural change.
Suitable for moderate to high-risk male offenders who are required as a condition of their parole or community based correction order to participate in drug and alcohol treatment.
Assessment via Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO), and Community Offender Advice and Treatment Service (COATS). To be eligible for the program clients must be a male who has had an assessment as part of their order and deemed suitable on the basis there is a link between offending behaviour and substance use.
Varies depending on program and volume of requests.
