SMART Recovery (Self-Management and Recovery Training) is a group program that assists individuals affected by addiction. The program draws on evidence-based tools and techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
An experienced facilitator and peer lead each session. The focus for participants is learning to manage addictive behaviours rather than particular substances. Participants learn to support each other through a peer model to create a behavioural change plan.
People aged 18 and over who are experiencing addiction. If you are under 18 we will refer you to a youth SMART recovery group.
SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery online meetings use evidence-based tools to empower people seeking assistance for addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling, cigarettes, food, etc. Turning point staff, trained in the SMART model hold three online groups each week. The meetings are open to any members of the community, are free and run for 90mins.
Online meetings are held via the Zoom meeting platform. Participants aren’t required to appear on camera and can remain anonymous.
