We worked with some of our partner organisations in the making of Addicted Australia.
Turning Point is part of Eastern Health, one of Victoria’s largest healthcare networks. Eastern Health is in a unique position to harness the specialist skills, knowledge and expertise Turning Point has and to use them in a broader healthcare setting. They operate specialist addiction clinics and inpatient detox and short stay rehabilitation, including 1 East and Wellington House at Box Hill Hospital.
Monash University's proud partnership with Turning Point pushes the boundaries of innovative addiction-related research, which translates directly into world-class outcomes for the community. Through the Monash Addiction Research Centre (MARC), Turning Point draws on the expertise of world-leading researchers to conduct evidence-based research that transforms addiction science, practice and policy, as well as ensuring that the training of future clinicians and researchers in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) sector is of the highest quality.
The Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC) works closely with Turning Point to promote self-help approaches to recovery from severe alcohol and drug related issues. As seen in the documentary, SHARC runs Family and Friends Support Groups, which give people the opportunity to connect with others who are going through similar experiences. The sessions provide practical help, information and support to families and friends impacted by someone’s drug and alcohol use.
