Statement on the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System
Today is a historic day with the tabling in Parliament of the final report and recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.
We welcome all scrutiny and transparency of our mental health system, which is broken and needs fundamental reform and, as the report has found, is a system operating in ‘crisis mode'.
In particular, Turning Point welcomes the recommendations to improve outcomes for people living with mental health and substance use or addiction, and we look forward to more funding being made a priority in order to provide the best care possible.
