Overview

Jo is a researcher in the Clinical and Social Research Team who is involved on various projects related to cognitive bias modification, addictions, and treatment for alcohol use in vulnerable populations.

Background

Jo completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology at the University of Otago. In her honours research she examined the prospective pattern of effects maladaptive perfectionism and social ranking had on the development of suicidal ideation under the Integrated-Motivational-Volitional Model of Suicide.

Jo also did her Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Criminology) at the University of Otago and has a Certificate in Te Reo Māori Language and Protocol from Te Wānanga o Raukawa.

Jo has previously volunteered with a mental health and suicide support service provider and was an advisor of youth mental health for New Zealand’s regional public healthcare system
