Overview
Maddy is a Research Officer within the Clinical and Social Research team, where she is involved in the set-up and participant recruitment for several clinical and observational studies.
Background
Maddy holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Monash University and a Master of Public Health from Deakin University. She completed her undergraduate major in Immunology and conducted research into Interferon Epsilon as part of CSIRO’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) and Honours at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.
Most recently, Maddy worked in the Laboratory Research Division at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre across numerous projects with a focus on Acquired Resistance in Ovarian Cancer and the Familial Aspects of Breast Cancer. She has extensive experience in multiplex immunohistochemistry, genomic sequencing methodology, and high-throughput drug screening in cell culture. She has several publications in the field of cancer research, including a second-author publication in Nature Genetics.
Maddy joined Turning Point after completing studies in Public Health. She enjoys the ever-changing nature of research and believes shaping better care and policy should always start by centring those with lived experience.
