Ready to lead the change for people impacted by addiction

Julie Monteiro is a Community Health Registered Nurse who works in assertive outreach with people experiencing homelessness and completed the Master of Addictive Behaviours with Monash University last year.

She says the course has significantly improved both her nursing practice and academic confidence.

“Many of my clients use substances, and I wanted to build on my existing knowledge and practice in the area of addiction on a deeper and more sophisticated level,” Julie explains.

She chose the program for its reputation as the gold standard in addiction education, giving her access to the latest research and evidence-based practices.

“The information I’ve learned has been invaluable,” she says. With flexible online delivery, Julie was able to balance study with work and life commitments.

While the next intake for the Master of Addictive Behaviours is in early 2026, the Graduate Certificate in Addictive Behaviours is a nested program within the suite of Addictive Behaviours and is now open for mid-year enrolments.

If you're looking to enter the addiction field or advance your expertise, this program offers the specialist knowledge and professional skills to elevate your career.
